You don’t get reliable answers from better prompt engineering, but from working on the system behind the agents.
The theme of this year’s ConVEx IDEAS Online Conference, Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) & Search Engine Optimization (SEO), speaks to the outcome, but what about the work behind the scenes?
Agents have started to spread heavily. But they work on information structured for humans, often existing in formatted, but insufficiently structured, ways on the web. Should we trust the information that the agents are using and delivering to us? Or, for that matter, should be trust what is being handed over to other agents? Research has shown that accuracy can drop as low as 23% when multiple agents are involved.
That doesn’t mean that agents useless; they need a trusted semantic layer as a baseline to provide context, as well as to help agents to know trustable facts.
In this presentation, the presenters show how an approach of human-written content structured for agents, based on iiRDS— Intelligent Information Request and Delivery Standard, a recognised semantic metadata schema—leads to high-accuracy results. This schema, compatible with schema.org, builds a trust base for information and products, offering both accuracy and context.
